Cajun Honey-Butter Salmon

This Cajun Honey-Butter Salmon is a spicy and sweet seafood option that cooks in 15 minutes. The salmon is moist and meaty, cooks nice and flaky, and is topped with spicy honey butter.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter - at room temperature
  • 1½ tbsp honey

Cajun Seasoning

  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp finely ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl mix together cajun seasoning ingredients
  2. Use electric hand mixer to whip butter for 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Add honey and cream together until smooth. Mix in 1 tablespoon of the cajun seasoning
  3. Pat salmon fillets dry on both sides with a paper towel. Rub with oil, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Bake salmon on at 400 degrees until 145 degrees temperature, ~15 minutes. You can grill instead of baking as well.
  5. Place a generous dollop of cajun honey butter on top of each fillet.
  6. Allow to melt for about 30 seconds, then use the back of a spoon to spread the butter all over the the top of the salmon
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley and serve immediately.
